Pink Dim Sum @ Dynasty 8, Conrad Macao

Dim Sum.

Adorei e diverti-me imenso!

Deep-fried Taro with Sea Cucumber and Shrimp Roe, Deep-fried Cuttlefish Balls with Sautée Egg Yolk and Custard e Steamed Bun with Egg Custard and Corn. Simplesmente deliciosos! E para finalizar a sobremesa, o Braised Superior Nest with Avocado and Preserved Plum, foi uma das melhores sobremesas chinesas que alguma vez comi! E excelente para a pele!

Dim Sum, an expression that means touching the heart, is a kind of tapas from the South of China. Making dim sum is an art. To celebrate the Pink Month, I enrolled in a Pink Dim Sum cooking class at Dynasty 8, one of Conrad’s landmark restaurants in Macau. Apart from the charity cause of the activity, the idea of learning to make dim sum was something that always fascinated me. Making dumplings is much more than cooking because it requires a detailed technique of folding the dough in such a perfect way.

The class was fantastic, due to the combination of enthusiastic participants and a talented chef who explained the process with passion and a great level of detail! I loved the entire class and it was incredibly fun!

Besides learning to cook,  I also had the opportunity to try out the Dim Sum menu at Dynasty 8 and I can tell you that it’s amazing!  It includes both traditional and fusion dumplings, all with incredible flavors. ?

Because October was the Pink Month, it featured a Special Pink Menu in which the usual dumplings had a pink tone (the secret is in the beetroot juice)!

If you live in Macau, you should definitely include the Dynasty 8 restaurant in your list of Chinese restaurants to try!

My favorites dumplings? Deep-fried Taro with Sea Cucumber and Shripm Roe, Deep-fried Cuttlefish Balls with Sautée Egg Yolk and Custard and Steamed Bun with Egg Custard and Corn. Just delicious! And the mouth-watering dessert, Braised Superior Nest with Avocado and Preserved Plum, was one of the best Chinese desserts that I have ever tried! Absolutely perfection! Great for the skin too!
